The ClarionMind runs on an Intel Atom processor and includes 512 MB of DRAM along with 4 gigabytes of flash memory. There are two USB ports and an SD card slot. According to Clarion, a vehicle dock will also be available, and that the device has an “Automobile Mode for safe access behind the wheels.” We hope this last feature isn’t too restrictive, although from the devices description, it can easily be defeated.

ClarionMind will ship in the fourth quarter.

Here is the new Pioneer AVIC N5 have a 7″ screen with 480×234 resolution.The navigation data is read from DVD which means your optical drive will be busy if you want to get some ‘new’ directions. It does have navigation from memory feature to remember your route once you enter your destination address though. The maps fit into 2 DVD’s and they come from TeleAtlas and cover US, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.

The GPS receiver is included in the package and it can track 8 satellites at once. AVIC N5 is bluetooth, iPod, XM and Sirius ready but they all require additional purchases.

Altina a Taiwanese  firm prepare to launch a new GPS navigation systems. This one is called Altina A8010 and it seems like it is reserved for local markets since they have no mention of it on their English site.

Altina A8010 has a 4.3″ screen which can be split into two show an overview map and your next turn - both in 3D.

In the hardware department you’ve got 64 MB NAND Flash and 64MB SDRAM. SiRF Star III GPS receiver for you satellite fix and SD/MMC card slot for maps. If we hear any rumors about a U.S. or EU release we’ll be sure to let you know.

Easycar U7 - Low Priced 7 Inch DMB Navigation Gadget

Easycar has recently released Easycar U7, its low-end DMB navigation device in Korea. The gadget offers 7-inch TFT LCD screen, DMB and PMP functions, and PIP(Picture in Picture) features. This slim navigation system also costs only $100. The Easycar U7 supports audio player, video playback, image and text viewer.

Mio Knight Rider is already available for pre-order on multiple sites. It seems like Amazon and RadioShack will offer the highly anticipated navigation system for $270 while Sears will try to sell it for $290.

Here is another GPS navigation system, called Enzym SG-350 and it is already available for the Canadian market.

SG-350 has a 3.5″ display with 2008 Q2 Navteq maps and a NavMate engine with full coverage of the USA and Canada. It boasts a POI database with 11 million entries and a surprisingly fast 533 MHz processor. It can play MP4/MP3’s and includes a picture viewer.

The product is initially going to retail in the USA for approximately $200. In addition Enzym has two more models in the pipeline: SG-250 and SG-430; both of which are scheduled to be available in early September. The SG-250 will be a lower cost model priced at about $150 without the multimedia features of the SG-350 but will retain the same map coverage. The SG-430BF will be a 4.3″ model with the same multi-media features and map coverage as the SG-350 plus Bluetooth and FM transmitter options and will retail for approximately $300.
